Core Competency #2
Creativity. It’s how most organizations make money and sustain their existence. Everyone talks about it and admires it when we see it. Most of what we consider creative falls in the category of a one-time event with many organizations unable to reliably replicate the feat, although certain organizations seem to know the secret sauce to make it happen repeatedly.
Innovation happens when disparate thoughts are combined in new ways that solve real problems. Innovation is reinvention and rethinking applied to the problem at hand that results in a new solution or at the least a real improvement in function that provides a tangible benefit.
Not every problem we encounter requires a new creative approach, most don’t. Working the margins, with small incremental change is often the best solution, and can be an effective approach. So, how much effort to apply when searching for a solution? How do you know what you don’t know? How can we reliably generate real creative ideas that result in innovation?
In this workshop we discuss different aspects of creativity and how Function Analysis and Visual Mapping can be a highly effective tool to generate real innovation.
